The 20p hack for cleaning your mattress that will get rid of any stain – including orange fake tan patches
A MUM has shared her foolproof hack for removing any stain from your mattress – and it’ll work wonders on fake tan patches.
Vicki Collis mixes up a solution with ingredients you likely have in your kitchen, which mingle together to make a fizzing, natural cleaner.
The mixture includes bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar and soap – and it only costs around 20p a time to execute.
“Mix bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar and soap together to form a paste,” Vicki instructed in an Instagram tutorial.
“Simply grab a cloth and rub it into the stain.
“Let it dry, vacuum off the bicarb mix and ta da.”
The Shrewsbury-based content creator dubbed it “the hack you didn’t know you needed”.
“Ada spilt her milk in our bed, and whilst trying to dry it we made a huge stain,” she explained in the caption.
“I thought there was no way this would come out, but came across this mattress cleaning hack so gave it a go.
“Wow, is all I can say!
“Game changer.
“Works on all stains and is super easy to do.”
Combining vinegar and bicarbonate of soda can cut through grease and lift stains, with some cleaning fanatics thinking it works better than store-bought cleaners.
It works as a cleaning product because both ingredients are at opposite ends of the pH spectrum.
They create a fizzy effect when combined that sinks into fibres to break down dirt and grime.
“I need to try this on my daughter’s bed,” one mum commented on Vicki’s video.
“Blooming fake tan.”
“I’m definitely going to try this next time I get a stain,” another penned.
