Two CT school buses with students on board involved in ‘minor’ crash

Two school buses with students on board were involved in a crash in Newtown on Thursday morning, police said.

The crash was reported before 9:30 a.m. on West Street, according to the Newtown Police Department.

Newtown police Lt. Scott Smith described the crash as “minor” and said one ambulance was dispatched to the scene “to evaluate a complaint of injury.”

Police were expected to remain on scene until all the students involved could be brought to school, Smith said.

More details are expected to be released later Thursday, Smith said.
