Report: Eric Dier is one of the odd men out inside the Bayern Munich dressing room

According to the print edition of BILD (as relayed by Sport Witness), Eric Dier is one of the few players in the Bayern Munich dressing room who is still backing Thomas Tuchel after it emerged that the German coach would soon be departing the club.

Dier joined Bayern on an initial loan deal last month, with reports indicating that the Bundesliga club would pay €2m-€4m (£1.7m-£3.4m) at the end of the season to make the deal permanent depending on his performances (ESPN).

The former Tottenham man has made a decent start to his spell at the Allianz Stadium, getting some rave reviews for some of his displays (Frankfurter Rundschau) but it has not been a good few weeks for Bayern.

The German giants are now eight points behind Bayer Leverkusen and are staring at the possibility of an elimination from the Champions League at the round of 16 stage.

Eric Dier continues to support Thomas Tuchel

In light of the side’s recent struggles, BILD confirm that Tuchel has agreed to part ways with the club at the end of the current season.

The outlet goes on to add that the former Chelsea boss has lost the support of a good portion of the dressing room, with several players turning against him.

However, that is not thought to be the case with Dier, with the report explaining that he is one of just six players to still back Tuchel.

The publication adds that the England international continues to support the 50-year-old as he is ‘grateful’ that the German brought him to Bavaria last month.

Spurs Web Opinion

It certainly stands to reason that Dier would be one of Tuchel’s backers. If the former Chelsea boss departs at the end of the season, that would not be beneficial to the centre-back’s chances of remaining at the Allianz Stadium as the new manager may not rate him.
