PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The upcoming closure of a UPS facility in Portland will leave more than 300 current employees without jobs in April, the company announced in a recent letter.
The Portland Day Sort location near Portland’s Swan Island will permanently close on April 19 due to what the company cites as a “volume loss in our network.”
UPS said the job cuts at 6707 N Basin Avenue will impact 272 part-time hourly employees, 11 full-time hourly employees, 40 part-time management employees, and eight full-time management employees.
The layoffs affect both union and non-union employees.
