Post office in Queens evacuated after worker comes into contact with white powder: NYPD
QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A United States Post Office in Elmhurst, Queens was evacuated Thursday after a postal worker was exposed to a white powder, according to authorities.
The incident occurred just after 12:30 p.m. The FDNY and the NYPD were on the scene, officials said.
The postal worker was exposed to a white powder that was on U.S. currency and was being treated at the scene, police said. It remains unclear the extent of the worker’s injuries.
