Hibs defender Lewis Miller spoke to Hibs TV ahead of our cinch Premiership clash with Dundee on Saturday (24 February).
The full-back returned to HTC earlier this month following his involvement with the Australia National Team at the Asia Cup. Miller explained what he got out of his first major international tournament and how he hopes to kick-on from the experience.
He said: “It was my first major tournament away with the Socceroos. It obviously didn’t pan out the way that I had planned, but I know having to go through that adversity and hardship will help develop me as a player. From now on, my sole focus is on Hibs.
“(When I came back) I walked into the changing room and there was a lot of new faces. They are all great lads, they bring a lot of quality and add a spark to this Club. In a few weeks time once everyone has gelled I am confident we can be a really dangerous team.”
Since returning from international duty, Miller has started against Celtic, Inverness and Aberdeen and is expecting another difficult test against Dundee this weekend.
“Dundee are a great side, Miller continued.
“They are doing well in the league at the moment and they have a lot of quality players. We need to make sure we go out and give 100% back at Easter Road, in front of our home fans. Every game is a battle between now and the end of the season – we need to fight as hard as we can for three points on Saturday.
“They are quite a direct team, they are quick on the counter and have a lot of quality players. But if we keep to our game plan, then we can contain their threats. We need to stay positive; we have been playing well in the last few weeks, we have been unfortunate not to get the results but on any given day we are confident we can beat anyone.”
