My situationship won’t commit because of his ex
DEAR DEIDRE: The boy I’m seeing told me he is still not over his ex – but he wants to keep dating me.
He says he isn’t ready to commit. I’m so confused.
We are both 18 and have been seeing each other for three months.
We have been on several dates and had sex, and I felt we were growing close.
But last week, I said I would like to become an official couple. He said he liked spending time with me but has realised he is still in love with his ex, so can’t give me more.
Should I wait for him to change his mind?

DEIDRE SAYS: You can’t make someone feel something they don’t.
Perhaps he didn’t realise he wasn’t over his ex until he got involved with you.
You could wait for him, but you might waste your time.
Perhaps it is better to look for someone who is ready to commit. My support pack, Mend Your Broken Heart, should help you.
