‘Survivor 46’ preview: Bhanu Gopal is ‘strong and determined to win’ [WATCH]
“Survivor 46” contestant Bhanu Gopal feels prepared for the island because of his early life growing up in India. Excited to get the game started, the 41-year-old IT quality analyst now living in Massachusetts dreams of the moment when he can “run and give Jeff a big hug.” Watch their full CBS interview above.
Though Bhanu is not a superfan himself, he was introduced to the show through his superfan husband George beginning with “Survivor: Cagayan.” He looks up to the game that Spencer Bledsoe played that season because despite getting “hit time and time again, he rose from ashes.”
The concept of fighting off adversity and rising to triumph is how Bhanu describes his own life. He describes what it was like growing up in poverty in India and says that the way people exist in the game is how he “lived for 18 years.” Picking up soil from the Fijian ground, Bhanu says, “This is not new to me. This is mom to me. This is mother nature.”
Don’t miss Bhanu compete as an original member of the Yanu tribe sporting this season’s purple buff when “Survivor 46” premieres with two-hour episodes on Wednesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 6, followed by 90-minute episodes thereafter. The new season features 18 new players divided into three tribes and they’ll vote each other out until only one remains on Day 26 as the $1 million winner.
