Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has said that one cannot rule out the possibility of Tottenham re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters at the end of the season.
Having full-backs who are comfortable on the ball is key to Ange Postecoglou’s system, with the Australian relying on his full-backs to invert and help progress the ball up the pitch.
It was noticeable just how much Spurs struggled against Wolves in the absence of Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie, with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies not being able to provide the same sort of thrust.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold opined a couple of days ago that in light of Emerson’s and Davies’ struggles against Gary O’Neil’s side, Tottenham would likely be thinking about re-entering the market to sign suitable backups to Porro and Udogie next summer.

Could Spurs return for Kyle Walker-Peters?
Bailey believes that the Lilywhites will look to sign one full-back who can cover for both positions, naming Walker-Peters as a good fit.
The journalist also suggested that Postecoglou will want to add a fourth centre-back to his squad, suggesting that the club could reignite their interest in Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo or Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.
Bailey told The Spurs News: “My understanding is they are looking for someone who can possibly play both sides, not Diego Dalot but someone of that ilk.
“I wouldn’t necessarily rule it out, Walker-Peters is someone who Chelsea looked at as well. For these signings as well, the fourth centre-half I still think is probably Lloyd Kelly or Tosin Adarabioyo to come in on a free.
“Good Premier League players but at the end of the day, they are going to be fourth choice. Spurs don’t need to go and spend £60m on a centre half.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I was quite surprised when no Premier League side picked up Walker-Peters after Southampton’s relegation last season. There is no doubt that a top-flight side will sign the 26-year-old in the summer and perhaps the youngster will be attracted by the prospect of a Spurs reunion.
