Conservatives taunt Trump with disappointed dad ad 'on a loop' outside CPAC
There was an unexpected guest at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday as Donald Trump gave his speech: his late father.
The former president has consistently been said to have had a dysfunctional relationship with his dad, including by a psychiatrist who said Trump was afraid of Fred Trump growing up. Trump's niece, a psychologist by the name of Mary Trump, has also shed light on Donald's relationship with the patriarch of the Trump family, saying at times that Donald has squandered her grandfather's fortune.
Enter the Lincoln Project, a group of current and former Republicans who oppose the ex-president.

They put out an ad earlier this month, recreating Fred Trump using artificial intelligence. The A.I. father talks down to his son, saying he's "ashamed" of him and how he has been conducting himself. It recites many of Trump's famous scandals and business failures.
"Donny, I always knew you'd blow it," the digital recreation of Fred Trump said in the conservative organization's latest anti-Trump video. "You were always a fool. A joke. Low rent."
But even creating the video wasn't enough for the group. They then took the show on the road, all the way to CPAC.
"Now Playing: Our latest ad 'Fred' on a loop outside CPAC this afternoon," the Lincoln Project wrote on social media on Saturday.
Bryan Fichter, who identifies as a retired intelligence analyst, responded to the move:
"Is there anyone at CPAC to see it?"
Another user, @HoosierVladdy had a suggestion:
"Play it over and over like Barney’s 'The Song the Never Ends' so like that song Conrade Donald’s birth Daddy’s AI but true diatribe will stick in the minds of CPAQ Maggats and Conrade for quite a while!"
