Republican claims Ronna McDaniel quit because she won't let Trump 'use RNC as a bank'
Former Republican senior congressional adviser Rina Shah added to what many have hinted at over the past several weeks — the breakup between Donald Trump and Republican National Committee chair Ronna Romney McDaniel involved money.
Speaking to MSNBC Monday, Shah, a former 2016 RNC delegate, said that the root of the bust-up is the struggle between Trump and people in the party who are not loyal to him.
"You have Trump loyalists who want to do the former president's bidding," she said. "Ronna McDaniel's resignation, she teased it earlier this month, but it's surprising that she would go. This is a great job to have. She was a regular woman in politics in Michigan one day, then she got the vanity and all the glamour of this job."

McDaniel officially announced she was resigning on Monday.
Shah said seeing the RNC being considered a piggy bank for Trump and his allies was too much for McDaniel. Last week, Trump's daughter-in-law and his favorite to replace McDaniel, Lara Trump, suggested the RNC could fund Trump's legal fees.
Shah said that there isn't another reason that Trump would push his people to the top of the RNC leadership other than money.
"This tells you that Ronna McDaniel is not okay with Trump World using the RNC as a bank. That's the big reason she's leaving," Shah continued. "She'd rather resign than be pushed out. Last year she sat with us in a private setting and talked about the RNC as a turnout operation. They don't tell candidates what to do."
Shah also said that McDaniel confessed she was frustrated about how many "Republican candidates have fudged the message on abortion."
The RNC chair argued that there is room for pro-choice people in the Republican Party, as well as Never-Trumpers.
"Her leadership didn't have any positive impact on the RNC infrastructure. She was always fighting an uphill battle about Trump and his cultish ilk," Shah explained. "Now Trump can fully remake the RNC in his image."
MSNBC host Ana Cabrera said that, from an outside perspective, it seemed that the disagreements between Trump and McDaniel were financial.
