BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a large South Buffalo house fire late Sunday night, according to a Buffalo Fire Department spokesperson.

Firefighters responded just after 11 p.m. to a fire at 167 Parkview Ave., where four people were inside. Two occupants made it out safely on their own while firefighters rescued one person and another jumped to safety from a third-floor window, according to the Fire Department.

All four occupants were taken to area hospitals, as well as a firefighter who was treated for second-degree burns. The name of the man who suffered life-threatening injuries was not released.

Fire officials believe the blaze started on the first floor of the house, though the cause remains under investigation.

Damage to the property was estimated at $250,000, plus $60,000 in damages to surrounding properties.
