Walmart firearms thief gets 30 months in prison
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Michael McDermott, 30, of Troy, was sentenced to 30 months in prison. McDermott admitted to stealing firearms from the Walmart in Glemont in May 2023.
McDermott pled guilty in October, admitting to smashing a gun case and stealing five shotguns and a rifle. During the guilty plea, McDermott also admitted to pointing a firearm at employees who tried to chase after him.
Upon release from prison, McDermott will serve three years of post-release supervision. During the three-year term, McDermott will not be allowed to associate with the Suicide Squad motorcycle gang.
