Here’s what you get when you order Chizza, KFC’s chicken/pizza mashup

It’s common to find pizza with chicken as a topping, but what would it be like to top chicken with pizza?

You can find out at your local KFC drive-thru.

Chizza is a mashup that originated in the Philippines in 2015 and then appeared in other parts of Asia, Europe and Mexico before arriving in U.S. restaurants for a limited time on Monday, Feb. 26, according to a news release.

It’s a chicken filet with Extra Crispy batter that functions as a crust. It’s topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. The shape is more free-form than round or triangular.

A full serving is two filets for about $9.99, depending on location. A half serving is one filet for $5.99. Combos with fries and a drink cost $12.99.

Yum! Brands is the parent company of both KFC and Pizza Hut, which should give customers a good idea what they’re in for. Yum! also owns the Irvine brands Taco Bell and The Habit Burger Grill.
