Albany men arrested on felony firearm and drug charges

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Monday afternoon, two Albany men were taken into custody on felony firearm and drug possession charges. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop conducted by the Albany County Sheriff's Deputies.

Police say the occupants of the vehicle, Isaiah E. Matos, 25, and Ar-Rahiim R. Nixson, 23, had a .9 mm SCCY semi-automatic firearm, seven ounces of cannabis, and oxycodone pills. Both are scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Tuesday. Charges are:

Isaiah Matos:

• Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
• Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree
• Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
• Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree
• Unlawful possession of cannabis
• A traffic violation

Ar-Rahiim Nixson:

• Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree
• Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
• Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree
• Unlawful possession of cannabis
