Police arrest Schenectady man on felony drug charges
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Ricky Rickson, 53, of Schenectady, was arrested following a traffic stop on State Street on February 22. Troopers say Rickson did not have a valid driver's license and attempted to flee on foot.
Felony-weight narcotics, multiple controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia were reportedly located inside the vehicle. Police also observed a large concrete figurine that was reported stolen from a Schenectady residence on February 19. Rickson was arrested on the following charges:
- Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
- Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree
- Resisting arrest
- Obstructing governmental administration in the second degree
- Manufacturing drug-related paraphernalia
- Criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree
- Four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree
- Vehicle and Traffic Law violations
The stolen property was returned to the owner. Rickson was processed and taken to the Schenectady County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
