Sachin Tendulkar’s Foundation Aiding Treatment for Babies with Deformities
Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary cricketer, has disclosed a heartwarming initiative undertaken by his foundation in collaboration with the Inga Health Foundation’s hospital to assist babies born with deformities in Jammu and Kashmir. Following a recent trip to the region with his wife, Anjali Tendulkar, and daughter, Sara Tendulkar, Tendulkar shared a touching message on social media along with a video documenting their experience.
In his message, Tendulkar emphasized the significance of the ability to smile and highlighted that approximately 60,000 babies in India are born each year with deformities hindering their ability to smile freely. Through the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, Tendulkar and his team have been collaborating with dedicated doctors to provide cleft lip and palate surgeries, aiming to restore smiles to these children’s faces.
During their trip to Jammu and Kashmir, the Tendulkar family visited the Inga Health Foundation’s hospital in Srinagar, where they interacted with doctors, children, and their parents. Tendulkar expressed profound gratification upon hearing the stories of how the surgeries had transformed the lives of these children. He further expressed his happiness at having contributed to this meaningful change in their lives.
Describing the trip as a “beautiful experience” that will remain etched in his memory forever, Tendulkar also shared glimpses of their visit through several videos. These included visits to a cricket bat making factory, enjoying leisure time with his family on a Shikara, playing cricket on the streets, and meeting Jammu and Kashmir’s Para cricket team captain, Amir Hussain Lone.
Tendulkar’s philanthropic efforts underscore the importance of using one’s platform and resources to make a positive impact on society, particularly in areas where support and assistance are most needed. Through initiatives like these, Tendulkar continues to inspire millions and leaves a lasting legacy beyond the cricket field.
