A MONEY-SAVVY shopper has sparked a rush to Trader Joe’s after revealing that she’s stocking up on their Supergoop SPF dupe.
She raved about the affordable sunscreen having a strikingly similar formula to the popular skincare product.
Ashley Macapern (@ashleymacapern) has 8,900 followers on TikTok, where she shares wellness tips.
“I just found the best dupe ever,” she said before holding up Supergoop’s SPF.
“Everybody knows the Supergoop, get it at Sephora this little bottle is like $40.
“It’s expensive, I probably won’t get it again but I love the formula and how smooth it is on my face.
“I’m just getting ready to go out and play golf so I decided to put sunscreen on.
“I remembered that when I went to Trader Joe’s, I picked up their facial sunscreen.
“Very similar, fragrance-free, SPF 40, same thing.”
Ashley said she had heard other people raving about Trader Joe’s sunscreen before she decided to try it for herself.
She was convinced by the person at the checkout to buy at least three bottles as they were certain she would want to return to buy more.
She began to apply the product all over her face as she shared her honest opinion.
“Look at it, it’s exactly the Supergoop formula,” she said.
“I cannot believe it.
“Supergoop is $40 US for half the size.”
She read the packaging on both bottles with the Supergoop bottle containing 20ml, while Trader Joe’s Daily facial sunscreen SPF contained 50ml.
Ashley poured a small amount of each product into her hand to show how the formulas looked in comparison to each other.
“Slightly different color but honestly the exact same feeling,” she said.
“Super, super soft, makes your face feel like a baby’s bottom. It is insane.
“I am so excited that I found this dupe and it’s going to be my favorite thing all summer.
“If I go to Trader Joe’s again in the States I’m buying like 300 of these because this is it.
“I’m telling you, ladies, if you go to the States pick up as many of these as you can.”
Should you wear sunscreen every day?
“The sun’s UV rays are potent,” Jessica “Nikki” Dietert, MD, a board-certified dermatologist told Healthline.
“Just 15 minutes outside is enough exposure to cause damage and potentially skin cancer long term.”
The skin expert recommends applying sunscreen daily to prevent long-term damage from the sun.
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends finding a sunscreen that is SPF 30+, water resistant, and broad spectrum.
She continued to rave about how similar the products were in the caption of her video.

Many people liked the video and commented that they were eager to try the bargain-friendly sunscreen she recommended for themselves.
Supergoop 100% Mineral Mattescreen Sunscreen SPF 40 costs $40 at Sephora, where it has a 4.4-star rating.
Meanwhile, Trader Joe’s Daily Sunscreen SPF 40 costs just $8.99.
