Second set of human remains found in Babylon: officials
BABYLON, N.Y. (PIX11) – A second set of human remains was found in a Long Island park Friday morning, according to authorities.
Authorities discovered a head, leg, and arm all belonging to an unidentified woman scattered on the east and west ends of Southards Pond Park in Babylon. Investigators are waiting on an autopsy report to reveal more information on the cause of death.
A student found a left arm in the brush along Siegel Boulevard, which runs alongside Southards Pond Park on Thursday, according to police. The arm is believed to have belonged to a man. It has a distinct tattoo and the fingertips are missing.
A police cadaver dog also discovered a left leg and a right arm in the park on Thursday. Police said both arms found on Thursday appeared to be male but they did not say whether they believed all of the limbs belonged to a single person or multiple victims.
The body parts appear to have been dumped recently, according to authorities.
