The defence ministry signed acquisition contracts worth Rs 39,125 crore including the largest military deal for an Indian private sector company, L&T. The contracts included upgraded fighter jet engines, supersonic cruise missiles, close-in weapon systems, high-power radars, and ship-borne Brahmos systems. Deliveries to start in the next two to three years, generating employment and involving micro, small & medium enterprises.
