Snapchat threat at Scappoose School District likely not credible, officials say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Law enforcement has a watchful eye on the Scappoose School District after a threat posted to Snapchat led district officials to take action Friday morning.

The post did not mention a specific school, and investigators found the threat was likely not credible. However, police will monitor the school district while classes continue as planned.

“We understand that situations like these can be concerning, but please be assured that we are taking all necessary steps to address the situation and maintain a safe learning environment for everyone,” Superintendent Tim Porter said in a press release.
