In a recent essay for Newsweek, the Prince of Wales mentioned both his sons Prince William and Prince Harry for their conservation effort. According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, Prince Charles did it to repair their relationship.

"The fact that Charles has done this in Newsweek, which has a large circulation in America, I think it’s clearly a form of an olive branch in the hope that there will be a form of reconciliation," he told The Sun. The expert speculated that Prince Harry could delay the release of his memoir to give the royal family favor. Fitzwilliams believed that doing so would be a fair exchange.

"I would have thought that some form of postponement of the autobiography would be considered," he explained. "Otherwise everything that is said to Meghan and Harry when they come over for the Platinum Jubilee—which I'm sure they will—could conceivably find its way into the book."He continued, "The Royal family needs to know the pressure is being taken off them when it comes to this autobiography. This is a way of handling it."

Fitzwilliams was not the only person who thought that the move was a "peace offering" to Prince Harry. British journalist Jonathan Sacerdoti told Us Weekly it was a "shift from what the Queen did."

Queen Elizabeth seemingly snubbed Prince Harry in her previous speeches. Her Majesty acknowledged the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge in her speech at the COP26 summit. She also didn't mention Prince Harry in her Christmas Day message.

What Did Prince Charles Say About Prince Harry In His Essay?

Prince Charles penned an essay about climate change for Newsweek. In his piece, he mentioned Prince William and Prince Harry for their efforts in helping the environment.

He acknowledged Prince William's Eathshot and Prince Harry's work in Africa to address the climate change in the continent.

"As a father, I am proud that my sons have recognized this threat," Prince Charles wrote on Newsweek's Jan. 4 issue. "Most recently, my elder son, William, launched the prestigious Earthshot Prize to incentivize change and help repair our planet over the next 10 years. And my younger son, Harry, has passionately highlighted the impact of climate change, especially in relation to Africa, and committed his charity to being net zero."

The Duke of Cornwall also mentioned his late father, Prince Philip, in his essay. According to the Prince of Wales, the late Duke of Edinburgh already foresaw the damage that humans would bring to the planet 60 years ago, so he founded the World Wildlife Fund.
