Hillsboro mobile home blaze displaces 2, shuts down road
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A mobile home fire in Hillsboro led to a temporary shutdown of a nearby road and displaced two people Saturday evening.
Just after 7 p.m., Hillsboro Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the 1900 block of SE Minter Bridge Road on multiple reports of fire and smoke coming from a mobile home. Some callers even reported seeing 20-foot flames coming from the back of the home, officials say.
On arrival, firefighters immediately began to fight the fire and search the home.
Due to the extent of the fire and concerns of it spreading to other homes, additional firefighters were called in to assist, authorities say. Crews also temporarily shut down the road between Southeast River Road and Tualatin Valley Highway to fight the fire.
The blaze was knocked down within 20 minutes and no injuries were reported, authorities say.
An investigator with Hillsboro Fire is currently working to determine the cause.
