I was fed up with my rusty towel rack but made it look as good as new using tin foil and a £1 miracle product
A WOMAN has revealed how she was fed up with her towel rack and pipes looking rusty over time, but managed to solve the issue with a £1 product.
Savvy Rachel shared how you simply need to grab some tin foil from your kitchen and some spray from The Pink Stuff.
On her @rjwoodsxx account, she wrote: “A cheap and simple hack for removing rust spots.”
Rachel shared how she used The Pink Stuff’s Miracle Window and Glass Cleaner to get her rack looking gleaming.
All you have to do is spray the metal and leave for a short time for the chemicals to do their work.
Then you need to grab your foil and scrunch it up into a medium-sized ball.
Next, you should scrub away at the rusty-looking bits to remove the discoloration.
It may take some time going in between each rack, but the end results looked worth the effort.
Once you are done, you can give each metal rod a wipe down with a dry cloth so it looks sparkling.
Rachel showed how her rack looked as good as new after her hard work.
Her clip has racked up nearly 2,000 likes, and clearly impressed many homeowners.

Other people offered up their own tips, including using “ketchup and foil”, and a “nail file pad.”
According to House Digest, you can easily remove rust from metal using aluminum foil.
“Aluminum foil is an inexpensive, simple, and stress-free way to remove rust because it chemically dissolves iron oxides by attracting oxygen molecules to itself,” the experts write.
“This makes it a better option to physically removing rust with scouring powder and steel wools.”

Aluminum foil is soft, so it’s less likely to damage your favorite, well-worn sauce pan or stock pot.
Chemical compounds that are highly acidic can make the metal less durable, while steel wool can leave the surfaces dull.
You can use aluminum foil throughout your house, but it will be especially effective and making chrome super-shiny and removing tarnish from silverware.
Create a solution of warm saltwater or a water and vinegar bath.
You don’t want the solution to be too strong, so don’t go over a 1:1 ratio of vinegar to water.
Then, dampen a piece of aluminum foil in the solution. You can use a larger piece, a ball of foil, or a strip.
Choose what is easiest to get into the nooks and crannies of your item. Grab more foil if necessary and re-moisten it in the solution.
As rust comes off the item, wipe it away with a dry, clean rag or cloth.
