Inside Gary Goldsmith’s tumultuous love life – from being married four times to knocking wife out in drunken street row
KATE Middleton’s scandalous uncle Gary Goldsmith has enjoyed a tumultuous love life.
The 58-year-old businessman is the younger brother of the Princess of Wales’ mother Carole.
And the heavily-tattooed millionaire is set to take part in Celebrity Big Brother, which starts tonight.
But he has been married four times and become the family’s black sheep.
His first wife was sales executive Miranda Foote.
They married in 1991, but after splitting he went on to tie the knot with Luan in 1997, with whom he had daughter, Tallulah.
After that marriage broke down he wed third wife, Julia Leake.
Finally he married his fourth wife Julie-Ann Brown in 2012.
But Gary was arrested in October 2017 after allegedly assaulting wife Julie-Ann outside their central London home.
The pair had got into a row in a taxi after a night out at the exclusive private members’ club Home in Portman Square, Marylebone.
The Metropolitan Police said at the time of his arrest: “Police in Westminster were called to an address at 01:24hrs on Friday 13 October following reports of a domestic incident.
“Officers arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of domestic assault.
“He has been taken to a central London police station for questioning.
“A woman found injured was taken to hospital.”
Gary was bailed and later attended a hearing.
In the November he pleaded guilty to knocking out his wife during a drunken street brawl at Westminster Magistrates court.
He was handed a £5,000 fine for the incident and ordered into alcohol rehabilitation.
His wife’s mum Maureen Brown slammed him for hitting Julie-Ann after she accused him of doing cocaine.
She told MailOnline: “You shouldn’t do that to a woman. She doesn’t deserve that.”
It comes as The Sun revealed Kate Middleton’s uncle has been read the riot act by her parents after signing up to CBB.
Insiders said Kate’s mum Carole — Gary’s sister — is “infuriated” and fears he could spill royal secrets on the show, which starts tonight.
It comes as the Princess of Wales recuperates at home following abdominal surgery nearly seven weeks ago.
It is understood the Palace is also anxious about what Gary might say about the royals and Kate’s family.
A source said: “Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael.
“They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother.
“It is infuriating for them. Kate doesn’t need this stress.”
