Former MP and actor Jaya Prada, labeled an "absconder" over election code violations, appeared in court after repeated summons. She secured conditional bail in connection to two cases. The BJP candidate in 2019 from Rampur, she lost to Azam Khan of the Samajwadi Party. Previously elected on a Samajwadi Party ticket in 2004 and 2009, she was later expelled. Despite multiple summons and warrants, she didn't appear until now. The court granted her bail on conditions, including regular attendance and no exemption requests.
