Medical examiner rules 'suspicious death' a homicide in Powellhurst-Gilbert

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A “suspicious death” in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood that launched an investigation in late February has been ruled a homicide, Portland police announced Monday.

Officers responding to 3300 SE 90th Place for a welfare check on Feb. 27 found Christopher M. McMillan, 41, dead at the scene. Police said they found “suspicious circumstances” at the scene.

A medical examiner later determined McMillan had died of homicide by gunshot wound. An investigation is ongoing.
