I make my own laundry detergent with ingredients you already have in at home – it’s easier than you think & saves money
A HOMEMAKER has revealed the natural ingredients to create her easy-to-make laundry detergent.
She said it is cost-effective and free of any harmful toxins or chemicals found in store-bought detergent.
TikToker Audrie Thomas (@audrie.creates) is a DIY pro who wants to help others “elevate” their living experiences at home.
“While being both cost-effective and void of any harmful toxins or chemicals often found in store-bought detergent, it is super easy to make,” she said.
You only need four ingredients.
The first is one-and-a-half cups of sodium bicarbonate, also known as baking soda. It’s a natural softener.
The second is one-and-a-half cups of sodium carbonate, which is washing soda. It works as a natural cleaner and water softener.
No. 3 on the ingredient list is a quarter of a cup of sea salt, to soften the clothes.
The last element is half a cup of Epsom salt. This will clean and fresh your clothes.
If you want your clothes to have a scent, you can add 20 to 25 drops of your favorite essential oil.
The instructions are also simple.
Audrie said to pour the ingredients into a medium-sized container and mix them well.
You can store it in a glass jar.
When doing laundry, use a heaping tablespoon per load, or two tablespoons if it’s a large load or particularly soiled.
Audrie said you can clean 50 loads of laundry per batch.
