NYSP: two arrested on felony gun charges
GRAFTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State Police report that they arrested Kevin Wang, 28, of Colonie, and Kyle Zheng, 22, of Colonie, with the help of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on Friday. They were each charged with three counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and nine counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
A New York State Forest Ranger allegedly found Wang and Zheng illegally target shooting at Pittstown State Forest in Grafton on Friday. Police say that the ranger determined that the two had multiple illegal, non-compliant guns.
The ranger notified the State Police of the alleged incident, leading to a joint investigation. There were then two search warrants executed in Albany County where the police report finding the following items:
- two 3D printers
- multiple lower and upper receivers, including 3D-printed parts
- armorer tools utilized for the assembly of guns
- numerous completed firearms, including a ghost gun
- numerous boxes of ammunition
Wang and Zheng were arraigned at Grafton Town Court and placed in the custody of the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail. Police say the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are expected.
