Indian private firms, including Adani Power, JSW Group, and Essar Power, have expressed interest in building 10 GW of coal-fired power capacity over the next decade. The potential investments, which have not been previously reported, could cost billions of dollars and demonstrate renewed appetite in an industry seen as financially unattractive.
