The genius way to stop sausages getting stuck in the Air Fryer – and you get a tasty side dish in the process too
THERE’S nothing more annoying than cooking something in the Air Fryer, only to find it gets all stuck to the bottom.
But one man has shared a genius solution to try when you’re whipping up some bangers, and it makes a tasty side dish in the process too.
“Top tip – cook your sausages on bread,” he wrote over a picture of himself doing just that on his TikTok page.
“Sausage fried bread (and they don’t stick!),” he added, showing the crispy bread once it was cooked.
People were quick to comment on the TikTok post, with one writing: “Tbf if this works you are a genius!”
“I do it with a chicken Kiev on top of bread and it makes a garlic fried bread,” another added.
“This is basically the same as ‘bread and dripping’ that would have been eaten during the war when you had no meat,” a third wrote.
“Or even better just cook your sausages and then fry your bread with the fat that’s left,” someone else argued.
To which another replied: “Why do that when you could do this?
“Quicker and less hassle!”
“Bit of gravy and you’re done!” someone else raved.
But others weren’t impressed by Neil’s sausage-cooking suggestion.
“Dirty,” one called it, as another added: “Yeah I’m sure 20+min cooked toast with sausage juice is delicious…!”
“That’s the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen,” someone else dramatically commented.
“Bread soaked in animal fat,” another mused.
“Top tip… please don’t do this,” someone else wrote.
“I will call the police!”
“Sausages should be cooked in the oven with onion, tomato, and black pepper,” another commented.
“You’ll never want them any other way again!”
“That’s ridiculous!” someone else raged.
It can also be a pain to clean an Air Fryer when you’ve finished using it.
And home appliance brand Ninja, which has one of the best-selling air fryers in the country, recently caused controversy with their cleaning method.
They teamed up with content creator Ciara, who goes by The Tummy Fairy on social media, to showcase their recommended way of cleaning your air fryer.
“Just put in a squirt of washing up liquid and a quarter cup of baking soda,” Ciara instructed.
“You’re going to fill that right up with boiling water, up to the top, and we’re gonna leave it for 20 minutes.
“Then, pour it all out, rinse it with warm water, dry it with a paper towel and there you go.
“It’s like brand new.”
