HERKIMER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Herkimer man was arrested on Friday after police say he admitted to making three handguns with a 3-D printer. Wayne Brunner, 27, faces several charges.

Around noon, Herkimer Police responded to a North Main Street Apartment to check on Brunner, after a report he had been acting irrationally. Police say Brunner was also arrested at 5:30 a.m. the same morning for damaging property at a local convenience store.

While visiting, police say they saw a rifle hanging on the wall and another handgun on the stove. Brunner was taken to Herkimer Police Headquarters where police say he admitted to making three handguns with a 3-D printer.

Police say Brunner made the guns as he became increasingly angry and frustrated, and also admitted he was packed and ready to leave the area. Police received a search warrant to search his apartment.

In Brunner's apartment, police say they found meth, two unregistered ghost guns, a loaded shotgun, three manufactured handguns with a fully loaded round in the chamber, three 30-round magazines of ammunition, four boxes of .223 ammunition, several handgun magazines with ammunition, a 3-D printer, two laptops, handwritten notes, and merchandise with extremist logos and slogans.

Charges:

  • Manufactured rapid-fire modification device (three counts)
  • Third-degree criminal possession of an assault weapon
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Criminal possession of a firearm (four counts)

Brunner was arraigned and remanded to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility instead of $25,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
