Is Facebook down? Outages reported by Downdetector
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Facebook, Instagram, and Threads appear to be experiencing widespread service outages in the U.S. Tuesday morning, according to Downdetector.com.
There were over 352,000 reported outages on Facebook as of 10:30 a.m., per Downdetector. More than 85,000 Instagram users also reported outages. Nearly 1,000 outages were reported on Threads.
Meta owns all three social media platforms. A spokesperson posted on X that the company is aware of the outages and is working on a solution.
"We're aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now," Andy Stone said.
Outage reports for Facebook first started to spike after 9:30 a.m.
Users were logged out of their accounts and have been unable to log back in. Some users reported seeing a message that their password was invalid, even if it was correct.
About 76% of reported Facebook complaints on Downdetector were related to login issues.
It remains unclear what caused the outages.
