Bagel company opens first shop in Hilliard

HILLIARD, Ohio (WCMH) - A local company known for its artisanal bagels is launching its first brick-and-mortar spot in central Ohio.

Bears Bagels is opening its shop at 4142 Main St. in Hilliard, according to a release from the company. The bagel company is taking over the former location of DiCarlo's Pizza.

Owners Charis and Lo Yost started the business back in 2022 and have seen major growth since its start. The pair used their passion for making bagels, selling the baked items at several shops and markets in the Columbus area including Coffee Connections in Hilliard, Florin Coffee in North Linden, Bada Bean Bada Booze locations and more.

Bears Bagels offers customers a range of the baked goods in their signature flavors including plain, everything, rosemary sea salt and sesame bagels. The business also changes its menu each month, offering a variety of options to try. Bears Bagels will also be adding signature sandwiches, sides and more in a "grab-and-go" option.

The new location is expected to open sometime either late spring or early this summer. Hours of operation will be Tuesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
