Local therapy dog celebrates 10 years at Cohoes school

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Harmony Hill School in Cohoes is celebrating a special anniversary. 2024 marks the 10th year that the school has been with their beloved therapy dog, Rozie.

The Golden Retriever became certified with Therapy Dogs International after a year-long process and has been an icon at the school ever since. For the last decade, Principal Mark Perry has been bringing Rozie to school with him every day.

"Rozie's presence brings a lot of smiles to everyone at Harmony Hill,” said Perry. “She has been an integral part of our team since day one. She makes people happy and helps when someone is having a less than successful day."

Rozie is one of the first faces to greet students and staff as they arrive each day. She also makes guest appearances in classrooms, lending emotional support to any student who needs it.
