I got a $7 dupe for a $42 YSL lipstick – it’s super glossy but feels like there’s nothing on my lips
A BEAUTY fan has shared her thorough review on $7 dupes for a popular $42 YSL lipstick.
The much more affordable beauty copies didn’t skimp on the quality, as she was happy to report back that they were glossy but lightweight.
Mikayla (@mikaylanogueira) shared the makeup dupes in a TikTok video.
She explained she had heard rumors about the $7 SheGlam Mirror Kiss High Shine lipsticks being spot-on for YSL’s $42 Gloss Sticks.
“The formula is supposed to be nearly identical,” she said.
Pulling the top off one of the lipstick tubes, she was immediately entranced by the dupe’s presentation.
“Not to mention this gorgeous shimmer shade, which I will absolutely be trying,” she said.
First up, however, was the Mirror Kiss sticks in the shade “Rent Free,” a plum-red hue.
“This is beautiful. As you can see, super glossy but it feels like there is nothing on my lips. Very comfortable,” she said.
Next, Mikayla leveled up with “Main Character,” a cool-toned bright red shade.
“It’s such a unique formula because it’s a hybrid of a gloss and a lipstick,” she said.
Last but not least was the clear shimmer shade she had been holding out on.
“This is my favorite one because it’s clear but has this beautiful shimmery reflect to it,” she said.
“These formulas are so damn similar, could absolutely skip the $42 and go for the $6.99.”
Viewers did have one issue with the dupes but felt that they couldn’t complain otherwise.
“I just feel like SheGlam’s packaging could be better,” admitted one commenter.
“I agree but that would drive the price up above $6.99,” said another.
