Corvallis man dies after serious crash, vehicle fire

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man is dead after a serious car crash in Corvallis Monday night, authorities said.
According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the crash on SW 53rd Street, where they said a vehicle had caught fire after striking a railroad trestle.
The driver, Nicholas Meyer, 21, was declared dead at the scene officials said.
Due to the significant amount of damage to the railroad trestle, the area is closed until engineers can survey the damage.
There is no time for reopening as of yet.
