Albany man pleads not guilty to murder charge

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- John Stanfield, 42, of Albany, has pleaded not guilty to charges in connection to a homicide on January 1. According to an indictment, Stanfield caused the death of Ozzie Gardner in the area of 36 Judson Street.

Stanfield was charged with murder in the second degree. He is also accused of possessing a loaded, illegal firearm and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. Stanfield was remanded and is due back in court on April 12.
