Patient dies when ambulance crashed on dual carriageway
An elderly man has died after the ambulance he was in was involved in a crash with two other vehicles.
The 86-year-old was being transported to hospital in Herne Bay, Kent, on February 16 when the collision occurred.
Other people were treated for injuries at the scene but the pensioner later died.
The crash involved a grey Nissan Qashqai, a beige Land Rover Defender and the ambulance.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: ‘Officers attended and emergency crews treated people for injuries.
‘A patient in the ambulance, a man in his 80s who had sustained injuries, was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.’
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is investigating the crash.
