Albany man wanted in New Jersey arrested after traffic stop
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man who was wanted in New Jersey was arrested on Saturday. Nizaliek Morris, 24, was arrested near the New York State Museum.
On Saturday, around 3:48 p.m., New York State Police saw a suspicious car stopped in the travel lane on Madison Avenue near the New York State Museum. Police identified the driver as Morris and said he didn't have a valid driver's license.
State Police say Morris was driving a car reported stolen from North Pearl Street in Albany less than 20 minutes before he was detained. Police say Morris was driving while impaired by drugs, and drugs were found inside the car as well.
Morris was taken to Capital State Police where he was processed and evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. A sample was taken to determine the drug content of his blood.
Police say Morris was found to be a fugitive from justice due to a warrant issued in New Jersey and a violation of the New York State Parole rules and regulations.
