NASA expert shares details of April total solar eclipse

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- In one month, people across the US are in for a special treat, a total solar eclipse is expected to be visible for much of the country.
A total solar eclipse happens when the moon slowly moves in front of the sun, blocking some of its light.
The next one won't happen until 2044.
NASA Heliophysics Program Executive Heather Futrell joined AM Extra to share more about the April solar eclipse.
