‘It’s the worst’ warns Netflix user as streamers complain over controversial change that’s causing cancellations
NETFLIX users have taken to Reddit to discuss the ad-supported tier.
Fans of the streaming service appear divided on whether it’s worth paying less but having advertisements in content.

The tier was recently discussed in a popular Reddit forum.
It’s called r/netflix and has over 1 million members.
The forum is described as a place for all things Netflix-related and often features users discussing tips and tricks.
“Downgrading my Netflix, how bad is the ad-supported?” one Redditor wrote on a thread.
“So I’m cutting costs and am looking at downgrading my ultra Netflix that’s $22 a month to either the regular or ad supported.
“Wondering how bad the ads are on Netflix?” they continued.
“The real problem is that certain content on Netflix is restricted to the non-ad tiers due to licensing restrictions, and not the ads themselves. This is important to note,” stated one person with the most highly-voted answer.
“Ads plan is the worst,” another Redditor wrote.
“Pay for ads? Get the f**k outta here, Netflix. The blatant greed this company has been exhibiting is offensive,” another complained.
Despite some backlash to the idea of an ads plan, plenty of other Netflix users praised the ad-supported tier.
“It’s better than Hulu. Just one short ad per show usually. For now…” one person wrote.
“We only run ad supported plans and prefer it that way,” another said.
“It’s been great for us!” one person exclaimed.
“Compared to the ads on other streaming services like Hulu, it is not that bad…. yet. I’m sure that they will increase the amount of ads as time goes on though until it becomes as unbearable as on other services,” another wrote.
Netflix with adverts currently costs $6.99 per month in the US.
