We opted for the Anchor on the Thames, as did a number of other Blues. Had 4 in there and then off to The Southwark Tavern. Only had two here as it was rammed with so many platinum members.
We left at about two with a police escort and were told to get off at Canada Water. Huge police presence here and marched to the ground via a longer than necessary route.
In the ground there were the usual drunks, coke heads, ne’er do wells and should know betters. I love this kind of Blues crowd. Not one of them would be signing up for an official supporters club!
Not much to say about the game apart from we weren’t too bad for large parts of the second half.
After the game the police were nervous, heavy handed and naive. It took 80 minutes to get from the ground back to Canada Water. A few scuffles along the way but the police seemed pleased with themselves and were actually giving each other the high fives at the station.
Poor result but decent day out.
Would do again.
