Much-traveled guard Jose Perez is on the move again.

The Bronx, N.Y. native has left the Arizona State team on the eve of the Pac-12 Tournament in order to play overseas, head coach Bobby Hurley announced.

“Jose is not going to be with the team moving forward,” Hurley said. “He’s decided to take a position overseas. He’ll be playing overseas the remainder of the season.”

Perez was the Sun Devils’ second-leading scorer at 13.5 points per game along with averaging 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

In his final game Thursday, Perez went for 25 points in a loss to USC.

He then did not play Saturday night as Arizona State lost to UCLA, 59-47, at Pauley Pavilion.

Arizona State was Perez’s fifth school after stops at Gardner-Webb, Marquette, Manhattan and West Virginia. West Virginia parted ways with Perez on Sept. 30 because he had not been going to study hall.

He transferred to the Pac-12 school in October after being unable to play at West Virginia.

No. 11 seed Arizona State opens Pac-12 Tournament play on Wednesday night against No. 6 Utah.
