Police investigating after dog found in bin on side of CT road with gunshot wound
Police are looking for information about a deceased dog found in a plastic bin with a gunshot wound to the chest in Coventry.
On March 2, the Coventry Police Department responded to reports of a dead dog discarded in a plastic bin on the side of the road on South Street just off of Route 6, police said.
The dog was described as a dark gray female pit bull with white paws, weighing about 50-55 pounds, according to police. She had cropped ears and it appeared she had puppies recently, police said.
Police believe the dog was left in the bin several days before she was found.
An investigation is ongoing and investigators are looking for local surveillance footage.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Krukuff at the Coventry Police Department at 860-742-7331. Callers can remain anonymous, police said.
