CT state police investigating fatal crash involving pickup truck on I-95 in Groton
State police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pickup truck on Interstate 95 in Groton on Sunday morning.
Just after 7:30 a.m. Sunday, a passing driver called Connecticut State Police Troop E to report that a pickup truck had crashed in the center median on I-95 North, state police said.
Troopers found a black 2019 Toyota Tacoma stopped in the median about 50 feet off the road ahead of Exit 89 in Groton, with its left side against a tree, according to state police.
John Longinidis, 27, was found unresponsive in the passenger’s seat and was pronounced dead on scene by 8:03 a.m., state police said.
Longinidis was alone in the truck, according to state police.
