Bankrupt Katie Price snubs court as she’s fined £880 for driving while banned in latest motoring offence
KATIE Price been fined £880 after she was caught driving without a licence or insurance in the latest in a long line of motoring offences.
The reality star, 45, was captured on CCTV in a Range Rover on August 2 while driving on the A14 bypass in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
Price was due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court charged with driving without insurance and without a valid driver’s licence.
The case went ahead in her absence instead today and she was found guilty of both counts by JPs.
Price was fined £880, as well as a £352 victim surcharge and £620 court costs – totalling £1,852.
She was also handed eight points on her licence – bringing the total she now has to 11 – but she was not banned from driving.
Price, who was declared bankrupt in 2019, has 28 days to pay the amount.
The former glamour model was banned from the road in December 2021 after being slapped with a two-year driving ban.
It came after she flipped her BMW in a drink-driving crash in Horsham, West Sussex, while heading to see a pal.
Price was also handed a 16-week prison sentence suspended for a year, 100 hours community service and ordered to attend 20 rehab sessions.
The ban was slashed by 24 weeks last April after she underwent a drink-drive reduction course.
But Price was reported to have had her licence medically revoked weeks later – meaning she was not allowed to drive at the time of her latest offence.
The court heard how she was seen on CCTV getting out of her car at an M&S petrol station.
A mystery man then got behind the wheel when they returned, it was said.
In the last ten years she has been banned from driving a total of six times.
Just last month, she was ordered to pay £398 in fines and costs after being convicted of speeding and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
The mum-of-five was clocked breaking the 70mph speed limit on a dual carriageway in a black Infiniti FX50.
It comes as Price continues to fight bankruptcy after running up debts of £3.2million.
She is battling to save her so-called Mucky Mansion from being seized and is next due in court in April.
Price is currently in a relationship with JJ Slater, who appeared on Married At First Sight.
The couple recently looked loved-up as they headed on a date night to a country music festival at the O2 in London.
