These Kansas counties had the highest and lowest wages in 2023
KANSAS (KSNT) - Last year every county in Kansas had a lower average weekly wage than the U.S. average, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In 2023, the average weekly wage for a U.S. citizen was $1,332. No Kansas counties exceeded the national average with Johnson County coming the closest at an average weekly wage of $1,317, according to BLS data.
Shawnee County came in the sixth spot with an average weekly wage of $1,074. At the bottom of the list, Osage County had the lowest wages with $634 weekly. Other counties like Lyon and Riley came in 24th and 53rd respectively in regard to wages, according to BLS data.
