Capital City Rescue Mission seeks food donations for Easter meal
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Capital City Rescue Mission is hosting its annual Easter event on March 31. During the event, those in need are encouraged to leave the streets and join the Mission's long-term recovery programs.
There will be a celebratory holiday meal and Easter service. The Mission anticipates 1,500 attendees and is asking for food donations. The food list includes 45 hams, yams, potatoes, mixed vegetables, stuffing, gravy, and pies.
The Mission is also seeking candy donations as bags of assorted candy will be handed out with each meal. Donated Easter baskets will be distributed to children who attend the dinner.
Donations can be dropped off at 259 South Pearl Street or the kitchen parking lot on Arch Street. Those interested in volunteering for the event can sign up on the Mission's website.
