Ferrari 296 GTB worth £250,000 is completely destroyed in London crash
Eye-watering pictures show the aftermath of a car crash which completely destroyed a very expensive Ferrari.
The black 296 GTB crashed with a white Mercedes in Islington, north London, on Friday afternoon.
One of the Ferrari’s wheels ended up on the other side of the road, with its bodywork completely crumpled and windows shattered by the force of the crash.
The road was blocked for some time with both buses and cars unable to get through.
The supercar, which retails for £250,000, is capable of reaching 62 miles per hour in a staggering 2.9 seconds – though it’s not known how fast either car was travelling at the time of the crash.
An air ambulance arrived at the scene, and one man – thought to be the driver of the Mercedes – was taken to hospital.
His injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 1.05pm on Friday, March 15 to reports of a collision involving two cars on St Paul’s Road, N1.
‘Officers attended. One man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
‘His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The road has now been reopened.’
